Return to Roots Summer Camp is a place where summer feels like summer again. Where children race through the trees, invent games that last for days, build worlds from scratch, and end the afternoon tired, proud, and grinning.
Our camps blend imagination, movement, creativity, and connection into full, joy-filled days spent mostly outdoors—rain or shine.
Get to Know Us
Return to Roots Summer Camp is an outdoor, play-rich experience for children ages 5–12 who are ready for real adventure.
Each week begins with a story that sparks curiosity and gives shape to the days ahead. From there, children dive into collaborative challenges, creative building, dramatic play, and large-group games that evolve as the week unfolds.
Our days are intentionally spacious. There’s time to run, time to rest, time to figure things out together, and time to sink deeply into play that doesn’t need to be rushed or rescued.
What Sets Us Apart
This is not a schedule-packed, whistle-blowing kind of camp.
• Play is the heartbeat. Children are trusted to explore, create, negotiate, and imagine in ways that feel meaningful to them.

Camp Details
Every week of Return to Roots Summer Camp brings a new theme, a new story, and new possibilities. While each camp has its own flavor, you can expect:

This week is all about curiosity, experimentation, and joyful mess-making. Campers will mix, build, test, and create using a wide range of materials—no instructions, no “right way,” just imagination and discovery.

The path disappears… now what? 🌲
Campers will work together to imagine life “lost” in the woods—building shelters, creating systems, solving problems, and learning what it means to rely on one another. A week full of teamwork, creativity, and confidence-building play.

The Great Remix brings back camper favorites from the entire summer—big builds, creative play, group games, fire cooking, water fun, and surprises along the way. Perfect for returning campers and those who want a little taste of everything.
Please read the following information carefully prior to registering
Our summer camp is a Forest Program for children ages 5 - 12. When deciding if our summer camp will be a good fit for your child, please consider the following:

We maintain a 10:1 child/adult ratio

Children must be able to maintain visual contact with Return To Roots staff and counselors, stay within designated boundaries of our site, and manage their needs independently (such as eating, drinking fluids, and using the restroom).

If your child requires additional support, please contact us prior to registering.
Refund Policy
All summer camp registrations are considered final. Refunds and credits are not guaranteed and will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Return to Roots Learning Community, taking into account factors such as notice provided, staffing commitments, and program capacity.
Registration and Payment Information
Spots are limited and fill quickly!
Beginning this year, payment for all summer camps is due in full within one week of registration.
If your family requires a payment plan, please indicate so on the registration form. Payment plans can flexible, must be approved in advance, and must be paid in full by June 1st.
